  Scott Lake

The Scott Lake Property is one of Cogitore's key projects. The property is located in the Chibougamau area approximately 20 km west of the town of Chibougamau, and is easily accessible via public and logging roads. The property is 100% owned, although parts of it are subject to certain cash payments upon reaching commercial production. It covers about 18 kilometres of the same favourable felsic rocks (Waconichi Formation) that hosts the past-producing high grade Lemoine mine located about 40 kilometres to the southeast (now part of Cogitore’s Lemoine Property).

History

Since VMS mineralization was first discovered in 1975, the Scott Lake Property has been known, until recently, for hosting distal zinc-rich mineralization occurring in small, widely scattered massive sulphide lenses of minimum mining width. This perception began to change in 2006/2007 as more and more massive and stringer sulphides were discovered by Cogitore, including zones significantly enriched in copper and silver over significant mining widths. In particular, highly encouraging results were obtained in 2008-2009 culminating with holes SC-30, SC-34 and SC-40 (see press releases of October 9, 2008, December 1, 2008 and May 19, 2009 respectively).

Massive sulphides are associated with two separate rhyolite units known as the Scott Rhyolite (hosting the Selco-Scott, 800 Lens, Central Lens, 1750 Lens and West Lens deposits) and the Tony Rhyolite (hosting the newly discovered CFO Lens).

The presence of at least six massive sulphide lenses and the identification of a large zone of strong hydrothermal alteration and disseminated sulphides over at least 3 kilometres, indicates the presence at Scott Lake of an extensive and vigorous hydrothermal system of a scale consistent with the possibility of a very large VMS deposit.

A NI-43-101 compliant resource estimate was prepared by Scott Wilson Roscoe Postle and the following mineral inferred resource estimates were obtained using different cut-off values based on net smelter returns (“NSR”):

The current objective at Scott Lake is to increase mineral resources prior to a preliminary scoping study which could lead to underground exploration.
