COGITORE INTERSECTS MORE MINERALIZATION ON TREND AT SCOTT LAKE – 21.6 METRES GRADING 1.96% COPPER.

TORONTO, January 21 - COGITORE Resources Inc. (the "Company") (WOO: TSX-V) is pleased to report the results of Hole SC-35 at its Scott Lake Project near Chibougamau, Quebec. Hole SC-35 was drilled approximately 140 metres from hole SC-30 (see Press Release of October 9, 2008) to follow-up on encouraging results from SC-30 that included 25 metres of massive sulphides grading over 2% copper, and a borehole Pulse EM anomaly that indicated a good conductor located east and down from the hole. A thick zone of stringer-type mineralization correlating with the West Lens (Selco Horizon) was intersected in SC-35 with the following assays:

West Lens ASSAY RESULTS – DDH SC-35

From (m) To (m) Length (m) Cu (%) Zn (%) Au g/t Ag g/t Remarks
654.5 676.1 21.6 1.96 0.38 0.11 22.9 stringer sulphides
including
664.6 670.7 6.1 4.20 1.09 0.19 49.7 stringer sulphides

Additional copper-enriched stringer-type mineralization was encountered deeper in the hole once drilling resumed in January, 2009. Results for the deeper intersections are pending. Hole SC-35 is the third consecutive drill hole related to the West Lens to intersect copper-rich mineralization. The three best copper intervals to date are:

SC-30 intersected 25.1 metres (590.2m-615.3m) of 2.04 % Cu , 0.99 % Zn, 0.17 g/t Au and 52.5 g/t Ag including 8.0 metres of 3.59 % Cu, 1.27 % Zn, 0.23 g/t Au and 82.2 g/t Ag .

SC-34 intersected 53.7 metres (459.7m-513.4m) of 1.88 % Cu, 4.89 % Zn, 0.39 g/t Au and 69.5 g/t Ag , including 13.4 metres of 3.73 % Cu, 4.54 % Zn, 0.60 g/t Au and 131.5 g/t Ag.

SC-35 intersected 21.6 metres of 1.96 % Cu , 0.39 % Zn, 0.11g/t Au and 22.9g/t Ag, including 6.1 metres of 4.20 % Cu, 1.09 % Zn , 0.19 g/t Au and 49.7 g/t Ag .

Hole SC-35 also intersected the North Horizon prior to entering the West Lens extension described above. Although no massive sulphides were intersected on the North Horizon, stringer sulphides were encountered with the following assays:

NORTH HORIZON ASSAY RESULTS – DDH SC-35
From (m) To (m) Length (m) Cu (%) Zn (%) Au g/t Ag g/t Remarks
584.9 600.0 15.1 0.31 1.14 0.10 7.1 stringer sulphides
including
586.9 587.5 0.60 0.41 5.13 0.15 7.9 stringer sulphides

Since VMS mineralization was first discovered in 1975, the Scott Lake Property has been known, until recently, for hosting distal zinc-rich mineralization occurring in small, widely scattered massive sulphide lenses of minimum mining width. This perception began to change in 2006/2007 as more and more copper-rich sulphide and stringer mineralization of significant mining width was discovered and culminated in the results obtained in Hole SC-34 (see press release from December 1, 2008).

Dr. Gérald Riverin, Cogitore's President and CEO, commented “With hole SC-35, we have now extended the length of a copper-enriched mineralized trend to 400 metres, and have intersected numerous 20m+ widths of significant mineralization. All our efforts at Scott Lake are focused towards proving the continuity of this trend with holes to be drilled, at least initially, on 100 metre centres in order to scope out the potential size of the deposit. This trend is still open to the east and to the west and more closely spaced holes and wedge cuts from existing holes will be needed to calculate resources.” The piercing points of hole SC-35 on the Selco Horizon and the North Horizon are shown in the attached Figure 1 and Figure 2 respectively.

Work is carried out by the personnel of Cogitore Resources Inc., under the supervision of Gérald Riverin, PhD, P.Geo. He is a qualified person (as defined by National Instrument 43-101) and has more than 32 years of experience in mineral exploration.

The drill core from hole SC-35 was logged and marked up for assay at the Company's secure facility in Chibougamau, Quebec. Drill core for assay was split in half.  Half of the core was shipped in sample bags to the ALS Chemex laboratory in Val d'Or, PQ for specific gravity measurement and sample preparation. Pulps were flown to Vancouver, B.C. for analysis with appropriate standards, duplicates and replicates used for quality control purposes. The other half of the core is retained for future reference.

Upcoming Events
Cogitore Resources will be present at the 2009 Vancouver Resource Investment Conference at the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre on Jan. 25 & 26. Investors are invited to meet with Company management at Booth #1112.

Cogitore explores for VMS-type deposits in areas where such deposits have been found and mined before. Exploring in such areas is preferred because of existing infrastructure, knowledgeable local workforces and broad public support for mining. Collectively, these are major competitive advantages for logistics and economics.
