Cogitore Doubles Size of Scott Lake Project’s Central Lens

TORONTO, July 6 /CNW/ - COGITORE Resources Inc. (the "Company") (WOO: TSX-V) is pleased to report additional encouraging results from its ongoing drilling program on the Scott Lake Project near Chibougamau, Quebec. Massive sulphide intersections in three 2007 holes to date effectively double the area of massive sulphide mineralization associated with the Central Lens (see attached longitudinal section). The lens occurs within 200 to 400 metres of surface.

Drilling to date also confirms the Central Lens occurs at a distinct higher stratigraphic interval than mineralization in either the Selco-Scott Deposit and the 800 Lens (formerly the “New Lens”) discovered by Cogitore in 2006. As well, this drilling doubles the number of horizons known to host volcanogenic massive sulphides at Scott Lake and led to the conclusion that some prior holes, which stopped short of the deeper Selco-Scott/800 horizon, need to be deepened to effectively test both horizons. A more detailed longitudinal section, which also highlights significant assays from previous drilling, can be found here.

Recently completed drill hole SC-18 returned values of 8.20% zinc, 0.56% copper and 22.5 g/t silver over 3.9 metres, which  is the highest grade to date for drill intercepts in massive sulphides in the Central Lens. Hole SC-25 returned two massive sulphides intercepts in the Central Lens separated by only 30 cm of barren rhyolite and grading 5.16 % zinc, 0.67 % copper and 12.0 g/t silver over 0.90 metres and 6.98 % zinc, 0.80 % copper and 10.2 g/t silver over 0.60 metres respectively. In SC-25, a third massive sulphide intercept grading 6.39% Zn over 1.30 metres was intersected deeper in the hole and may correspond to the horizon hosting the Selco-Scott and 800 Lens deposits. More details on the sampling and assays are shown below:

Company President Gérald Riverin, Ph.D., P. Geo. commented “The confirmation of the presence of two potential ‘pay horizons’ and doubling in size of the massive sulphide portion of the Central Lens are significant developments. These results, taken together with the encouraging stringer sulphide mineralization reported last month below the Central Lens (SC-15 intersected 24.8 meters of 2.24% zinc, 1.10% copper and 33.3 g/t silver), indicate increased potential for volcanogenic zinc/copper - type mineralization at Scott Lake, a deposit type not widely associated with the Chibougamau mining district. ”

Drilling at Scott Lake is ongoing with two machines, complemented by state-of-the- art down hole geophysical surveys and lithogeochem sampling of drill core.

Work is carried out by the personnel of Cogitore Resources Inc., under the supervision of Gérald Riverin, PhD, P.Geo. He is a qualified person (as defined by National Instrument 43-101) and has more than 30 years of experience in exploration. Core is logged and sections sent for analysis are sawn in half at the Company's secure facilities in Chibougamau, Quebec. Half the core sampled is sent to ALS Chemex in Val d’Or, Quebec, for analysis with appropriate standards, duplicates and replicates used for control purposes. The other half of the core is retained for future reference.

The Company has developed a strategic focus on base metal exploration in prospective areas that also feature infrastructure favourable for mining development. Accordingly, it focuses its work in the Abitibi Belt of Quebec and Ontario, and in the Central Belt of Newfoundland. The company maintains annual drilling contracts and is adequately funded to drill year-round.
