Attention Business Editors:

Cogitore Intersects 3.12% Copper over 4.4 metres at the Estrades Project

TORONTO, May 8/CNW/ - Cogitore Resources Inc. (the "Company") (WOO: TSX-V) is pleased to report encouraging results from its recently completed winter drilling program at the Estrades project. A deep hole below the East Zone intersected a 23 metre thick zone of copper mineralization hosted by strongly chloritized felsic volcanics. Assay results are shown below:

The hole was drilled down plunge of the “East Zone” about one kilometre to the east of the Main Zone (currently the subject of a feasibility study) and was drilled to follow up borehole pulse electromagnetic geophysical survey (PEM) responses in adjacent holes.

Company President Gérald Riverin, Ph.D., P. Geo. Commented “This copper-rich mineralized zone represents one of the best overall intersections of copper to date at the  Estrades project and is typical of stringer mineralization that is normally found proximal to massive sulphide vent areas. A prior hole drilled in 1989 (H-293), located 190 metres up-dip of EME-07, intersected 0.91% Cu over 9.2 metres within what appears to be the same zone (see attached longitudinal section). If the interpreted linkage between holes proves correct, it suggests improvement in copper content downward within a quite extensive mineralized zone. The East Sector will be the focus of our next drilling campaign at Estrades.  A borehole PEM survey in drill hole EME-07 suggests a moderate ‘edge’-type anomaly coinciding with the copper stringer mineralization. Follow-up work will include additional borehole geophysics and diamond drilling”.

The 2007 winter drilling program also included one hole to test the continuity of the Estrades Mine “Main East” Zone, two holes to test a felsic horizon about 600m to the north of the Estrades Mine Horizon, and one ‘wildcat’ hole south of the Estrades Horizon to test for potential new felsic volcanic horizons in a sector that is 100% covered by overburden, and remained unexplored by drilling.

Drill hole EST-10 on the Main East Zone confirmed strike continuity of known zinc/copper mineralization with appreciable gold and silver tenors as per the following results:

Drilling on the north felsics intersected strongly altered felsic volcanics having a chemical  signature identical to the unit hosting the Estrades deposit but without significant sulphide mineralization.

Finally, the ‘wildcat’ hole exploring for additional felsic horizons to the south of Estrades intersected a thick sequence of intermediate (dacitic) lavas and felsic (rhyolite) dykes. This volcanic edifice is topped by a 24-metre thick fragmental unit best described as a “white fragment breccia”. Such breccias are common in certain productive VMS environments such as in the Noranda Camp. Borehole PEM in this hole showed an “in-hole” anomaly building up at the end of the hole, indicating conductive material further to the south, and beyond the end of the hole. This will be further investigated during the next drilling campaign either by deepening the hole or starting a new hole, depending on follow-up geophysical surveys.

Work is carried out by the personnel of Cogitore Resources Inc., under the supervision of Gérald Riverin, PhD, P.Geo. He is a qualified person (as defined by National Instrument 43-101) and has more than 30 years of experience in exploration.

The Company has developed a strategic focus on base metal exploration in prospective areas that also feature infrastructure favourable for mining development. Accordingly, it focuses its work in the Abitibi Belt of Quebec and Ontario, and in the Central Belt of Newfoundland. The company maintains annual drilling contracts and is adequately funded to drill year-round.
