Cogitore Resources Inc. Announces 2007 Exploration Program on Estrades Property

TORONTO, January 18/CNW/ - Cogitore Resources Inc. (the « Company ») (WOO, TSX-V) is pleased to announce the commencement of its 2007 exploration program on the Estrades property (“the “Property”). This program includes drilling on both the 100% owned Estrades Mine Property and on the adjacent claims that are subject to the Company’s earn-in joint venture agreement with Inmet Mining. To date Cogitore has completed over 40% of total required expenditures to fulfil the Inmet agreement.

The first hole of a 4,000 metre drill program has commenced. The program is intended to:

a)     validate the resources on a potential additional mineralized zone that was identified 100 metres east of the Main Zone by Scott Wilson Roscoe Postle Associates Inc. (“Scott Wilson RPA”) in their November 2006 NI-43-101 compliant Technical Report (filed on SEDAR).

b)    follow up on borehole geophysical anomalies or encouraging mineralization discovered in 2006;

c)     provide information on previously unexplored areas on the Property;

In addition, Quantec Geoscience Inc. has mobilized to the project to begin a TITAN 24 survey in the immediate Estrades mine area to identify potential deep targets for further drilling. TITAN is considered today as the most advanced technology in earth imaging and has been shown to obtain critical information to depths of several hundred metres. Cogitore believes that using state-of-the-art exploration technologies in high potential properties is key to discovering new orebodies at depth.   

Engineering firm GENIVAR is making good progress with the feasibility study on the Estrades deposit. The study is focusing on a portion of the Estrades Main Zone located above a depth of 415m and in which Scott Wilson RPA calculated resources of 390,000 tonnes grading 0.80% Cu, 11.03% Zn, 6.24 g/t Au and 187.3 g/t Ag. Completion of the study is anticipated in the first quarter of 2007.

Work is carried out by the personnel of Cogitore Resources Inc., under the supervision of Gérald Riverin, PhD, P.Geo. He is a qualified person (as defined by National Instrument 43-101) and has more than 30 years of experience in VMS exploration.

The Company has developed a strategic focus on base metal exploration in prospective areas that also feature infrastructure favourable for mining development. Accordingly, it will focus its work in the Abitibi Belt of Quebec and Ontario, and in the Central Belt of Newfoundland.
